Comparing Phone.com Features to Competitors

Not sure if Phone.com is a fit for your business? We have compiled a list of top alternatives and what they have to offer!

Top Phone.com Feature Alternatives

For SMS:

  • GlobalCallForwarding: GCF offers inbound text messaging however it limited since it doesn't allow outbound messaging. So essentially customers can text you with a question or concern but you still have to either email or call that customer.
  • SimpleTexting: SimpleTexting offers a much more advanced SMS platform for businesses. Their interface is highly intuitive. Pricing varies by package, starting at $25 for 500 outbound texts.
  • AVOXI: A brand new feature available for AVOXI customers! Currently available for US/Canada numbers, with international SMS coming soon. Learn more about business SMS.

For Call Recording:

  • CallRail: While CallRail tends to be on more of the pricey side they include advanced features such as conversation analysis and keyword tracking within your recorded calls.
  • 8x8: With 8x8 you can choose to always have your recording on or simply choose on-demand recording which only records the calls of your choice. They include 35 hours of recordings (1GB), however, if you exceed this you will be charged a fee for extra storage.
  • AVOXI: Calls recording using AVOXI are stored at the number level rather than based on the user. Pricing plans vary.

Phone.com Pricing Overview

Phone.com offers both pay per minute plans as well as unlimited minute plans. There are 3 packages available with both packages, their Base Plan, Plus Plan, and Pro Plan. Your overall pricing will depend on how much talk time you expect each month and whether or not you will need to add on features. If you get an unlimited plan, the number of users will have a big impact on the overall price.

Every Phone.com plan also includes at least 1 local or toll free number in the US and Canada (international telephone numbers are available as well, more on that below). But, if you would like you choose your phone number or get a custom vanity number, prices will vary. Typically, custom telephone numbers will be significantly more expensive than toll free or local numbers. When we used Phone.com’s search tool, we found vanity phone numbers starting as low as $199 while others were over $1,000.

If you’re looking to get a custom phone number, Phone.com has included a search feature to help you find exactly what you’re looking for.
