Hyderabad Campus LEED Certified for Green Initiatives

Our LIB Campus in Hyderabad has been LEED Platinum certified, which is a rating system for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings.

Across the globe, the importance of green initiatives are becoming more prevalent. Our new Hyderabad Campus, commonly known as the LIB Campus, has been LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certified. This means that the facility has been designed, built, or operated in a way that has positive effects on the environment while also lessening or eliminating negative effects on our climate and natural surroundings.

There are three standards among the LIB Campus building’s green characteristics:

  • Environmental criteria has been taken into account for the landscape,, building, and architectural design
  • The architecture considers the local climate conditions (i.e. sun, wind, rain, etc.) and effective glazing for natural lighting which lessens the building’s environmental impact
  • Energy management and conservation, also known as energy efficiency

To achieve harmony with the social, economic, and environmental aspects  in terms of efficiency and energy management, coordination between all departments are critical. These include:

Environmental criteria has been taken into account for the landscape,, building, and architectural design

  • A low carbon footprint
  • Strategically designed lighting architecture
  • Sustainable insulation leading to greater energy efficiency and lower energy bills.

The Platinum rating for a green building has seven key areas

  1. Sustainable Sites
  2. Water Efficiency
  3. Energy and Atmosphere
  4. Materials and Resources
  5. Indoor Environmental Quality
  6. Innovation in Design Process
  7. Regional Priority

Based on the above parameters, it is necessary to score more than 80% in the above criteria to achieve LEED certification for the building. Here are just a few of the sustainable features found in our LIB Campus:

  • Rooftop terrace garden
  • Insulation layers in the walls and ceilings
  • Zero discharge rainwater harvesting system
  • Smart indoor air quality system
  • Effective glazing for natural lighting
  • Low carbon footprint in construction
  • Use of recyclable construction materials
