Google Voice

JustCall Vs Google Voice: Who Can Keep You Connected?

As a leading tech giant, Google is omnipresent. Given its stronghold and expertise, the company finds itself in a convenient spot to identify market gaps and distribute services across an array of segments to meet demands. And Google Workspace attempted to supplement a chunk of these requirements. It comes equipped with a series of cloud computing, collaboration, and productivity tools that allow businesses to sustain, and Google Voice is one such offering amongst the many.

For businesses on a tight budget, Google Voice can be an excellent way to mark their transition. However, how does Google Voice fare against a powerhouse like JustCall? Can it make the cut?

We take a long, hard look at this question.

User Interface Comparison

User Interface, or UI, is a blend of form and functionality of an application. In simple words, it is the look, feel, and usability of the solution, which sheds light on the ease of use. As software solutions turn more user-friendly, UI becomes a key consideration for businesses as it will regulate the technological uptake and adoption rates. And for this reason, we are kicking off the JustCall vs. Google Voice comparison, starting with the UI so that you can get an idea of the touch and feel of the solutions.

First, we have JustCall with the following visuals:

Then, we have Google Voice with its fair share of results:

A cursory glance through the above is enough to paint a picture that JustCall is a lot more comprehensive than Google Voice. For a more detailed review, we have pitted the two against each other in a feature-by-feature comparison. But first, let’s talk money.

Pricing Comparison

At the end of the day, every business investment decision is shackled by a budget. And for this reason, several companies set aside a sum that they are willing to part with on a periodic basis, along with the tolerances if any. Hence, the JustCall vs. Google Voice comparison views the two services through the lens of the total cost of ownership of the communication system.

Let’s start with JustCall. It offers four plans, which are priced as follows:

Plan Name Essentials Team Pro Business
Monthly Pricing $29 per user per month $39 per user per month $69 per user per month Quote available on request
Annual Pricing $19 per user per month $29 per user per month $49 per user per month Quote available on request

The features available for each of these plans are given below:

Google Voice follows a similar pricing pattern with three plans as given below:

Plan Name Starter Standard Premier
Monthly Pricing $10 per user per month $20 per user per month $30 per user per month

At this price point, you can expect the following features:

At face value, Google Voice appears to be the cheaper option. However, consider the fact that the plan shared above is available after the user has subscribed for Google Workspace, the pricing for which is as follows:

Plan Name Business Starter Business Standard Business Plus Enterprise
Monthly Pricing $6 per user per month $12 per user per month $18 per user per month Quote available on request

These plans offer the following features:

Thus, you will have to add the individual costs to get an idea of the total sum that you will have to pay for Google Voice. On the other hand, JustCall tells you as it is, so you effectively pay for what you use.

Customer Reviews Comparison

No comparison could ever be complete without factoring in the voices and experiences of the current and past users – and the same goes for JustCall vs. Google Voice. We have gone through multiple third-party review websites to understand what the customers have to say about a solution.

Here’s a quick overview of the customer ratings from various sources:

  JustCall Google Voice
G2 4.2/5 4.2/5
Get VoIP 4.5/5 4.4/5
Capterra 4.1/5 4.5/5
Software Advice 4.07/5 4.49/5
GetApp 4.2/5 4.5/5
Trust Radius 8.2/10 8.1/10

While the competition is neck and neck, it is worth mentioning that the number of reviews matter. For instance, both JustCall and Google Voice have a rating of 4.2 on 5 on G2. However, JustCall hits that number with 240 reviews while Google Voice only has 102 reviews. On comparing by volume, it is clear that a larger share of individuals (nearly 2x) are happy with JustCall – which points towards greater success.

Hence, we recommend that you don’t just go by the rating but actually lend an ear to what people have to say to get a level-headed view.

JustCall has clearly fared well in terms of winning over customers. Meanwhile, Google Voice has received a mixed bag of reviews. Few Google Voice users have concerns over some of the features like saving contacts, call quality and so on.

Where JustCall Shines

When competing against a well-known name like Google, it is easy to gloss over JustCall. After all, the name is a testament to the brand alone. However, if you shield your eyes from the blinding glare and take an unbiased look, you will see that JustCall clearly rules the roost in the following segments:

Feature-Packed Plans

Google Voice offers you just enough to get your foot in the door. However, if you are an ambitious, growth-driven company that is unafraid to invest in itself, then you’d rather put your money in JustCall due to the sheer amount of features available.

Sure, you will have to pay somewhat of a premium but the price difference would only be $8 per user per month whereas the difference in features would far eclipse it. Even at the base plan for JustCall, you get access to a rich suite of tools and functionalities that will make handling business communications a walk in the park.

Unlimited Integrations

CRM-integrations

Google Voice offers G-suite integrations (more on that later). However, JustCall offers out-of-the-box integrations with 100+ tools and applications. You can pick the CRM, helpdesk, collaboration, or productivity tool of your choice and integrate it with JustCall to build a one-stop platform for all your business needs without having to switch between individual applications. Plus, it imparts a sense of adaptability that can keep up with your business requirements as time passes. As such, the integrations will maintain scalability without having to change vendors or service providers.

Global Presence

While Google is a global name, Google Voice services are fairly geographically restricted. For instance, you can get a local call in just 13 countries or regions – which is not a lot against the backdrop of rampant globalization pervading most industries. Even major countries like Germany are missing out on the service and the rate at which Google is annexing countries is just not fast enough!

On the other hand, JustCall already enjoys a strong presence in several countries across the globe and can even grant you access to local numbers in 70+ countries. So, if you aspire to have an international presence, JustCall is clearly the medium to achieve it.

Hands-On Team Management

JustCall was made to empower teams. You can use it to create distinct user groups, assign phone numbers, and set up collaborative channels amongst teams. Apart from storing critical information, such as call logs, as a shared asset JustCall also allows internal members to set up meetings, share documents, pass call notes and dispositions during calls, tag calls, and even get on concurrent calls.

Plus, managers have supervisory tools and privileges that allow them to aid and assist team members through call monitoring, warm or cold transferring, whispering, barging, hot desking, etc. Such rich features offered by JustCall help with team building, which, in turn, will solidify its foundation and take it to new heights.

Insightful Reporting and Analytics

Team-Analytics

One would think that as a master of the world’s data, Google would do a better job at presenting Google Voice information in the form of informative reports and analytics. On the contrary, this appears to be the sorest pain point for businesses using Google Voice – the apparent lack of data-backed reporting and analytics.

JustCall, on the other hand, offers a wealth of information in easy-to-understand, digestible, and visual formats. The interactive dashboards update in real-time and managers can monitor employee or team performance during the call. These analytics are not limited to calls alone, companies can also visualize the performance of their SMS campaigns and export all the information through detailed reports.

Plus, the integration with CRMs and other tools makes it easier to deep-dive further into analytics in the respective fortes.

Reliable Customer Support

JustCall goes all out in extending customer support through every channel possible. You have an up-to-date knowledge center for all the latest updates and activities, as well as the self-help guides. And you have the typical 24×7 email and chat support if you are to run into issues.

Additionally, JustCall users get access to personalized onboarding support to ease the transition to JustCall. The mid and top-tier plans offer additional support services such as a dedicated account manager, priority support, SLA with a 99.99% uptime guarantee, dedicated technical support, and professional services. Unfortunately, Google Voice has very limited customer support as you will primarily have to gain information through the forums than other readily accessible sources.

Room for Automation

JustCall-Automation

When we say that JustCall is made for growth, we mean it. Apart from granting access to a world of possibilities that can expand with your business, JustCall ties it all together with the fabric of automation. From auto-dialing numbers to automatic call logging to syncing data automatically and setting up SMS campaigns to automated post-call surveys, and more – setting up customized and automated workflows on JustCall makes it easier for your agents to focus on the more pressing tasks at hand than getting distracted by routine, unproductive tasks. The lack of automation leaves a lot to be desired with Google Voice.

Where Google Voice Shines

Even though JustCall delivers an overarching victory over Google Voice, that’s not to say that the latter does not have its moments. The following are some areas where Google Voice clearly seems to get things right:

Affordable Pricing

As stated already, Google Voice gets you started – or at least figure out if your business is cut out to move to virtual contact centers.

The customer-friendly pricing is such that even solopreneurs and freelancers can invest in a business communication system for a more professional look and feel. Naturally, small businesses, especially those operating remotely will extract more value from it. Even if you have to invest in Google Workspace, the lowest and highest plans correspond to $16 per user per month and $48 per user per month respectively. At this price point, you get access to dedicated business tools, AI-powered applications, and a lot of storage – which seems to be a fair bargain. So, Google Voice can be a way to test the waters or your jumping-off point into the world of VoIP.

Free Calls and Texts

Those making calls from the US will not be charged for Google Voice calls in the US and Canada. It is worth mentioning that calls to specific phone numbers may be chargeable but to the effect of one cent per minute – which is nominal. The same applies to SMSes and MMSes sent within the US and Canada. As such, if you have basic telemarketing requirements, they will be met by Google Voice, at no cost!

Even the international calling rates are extremely pocket-friendly and range between $0.01 to $2.00 per minute depending on where you’re making the call ($2 being the cost of making calls to Antarctica!). Special services, however, can push the bill to highs of $7.25 per minute for international networks.

Integration With the Google Workspace

Source: Google Voice

One of the greatest pulls of working with Google Voice is that it allows integration with Google Workspace – formerly the G-Suite. Moreover, if you have used any G-Suite services before, you’ll know that they are the end-all, be-all solution for all basic personal and commercial requirements. For starters, Google Workspace will integrate with tools and platforms like Gmail, Contacts, Drive, Meet, Calendar, Chat, Jamboard, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Keep, Sites, and Forms. By extension, even Google Voice can integrate with the above solutions, which are more than sufficient to help you grow!

JustCall vs. Google Voice: Which One is Better?

While Google Voice is an excellent VoIP solution, the service can only take flight if it is successful in branching off as an independent service under the Google brand. The fact that Google already has so much on its plate has caused stagnation and stalling in any further developments. Plus, it doesn’t help that the company’s customer support is next to nothing. Against such obstacles, JustCall appears as a better contender even at a relatively higher cost. JustCall unlocks greater potential that will help businesses achieve their goals quickly, smartly, and efficiently.
