Amongst many varied services Microsoft is known for, the tech organization also offers cybersecurity solutions ranging from identity and access management, information protection, cloud security, to name a few, that can be applied to all their managed services.
The cybersecurity company has a multi-level security architecture that protects information stored by businesses and governments within the cloud, on mobile devices and across many different networks.
An expert in threat analysis and prediction, Rapid7 helps companies work on their network vulnerabilities and catch suspicious cyber activity in its early stages before they can escalate and pose a greater threat.

Although sometimes used interchangeably, computer security companies and cybersecurity companies offer different security solutions, thus are directed to different audiences. How can we differentiate the two?
Companies taking care of computer security, also called physical security, offer services related to solely protecting hardware from unauthorized access. They hold a machine-focused approach and aims to keep tech equipment updated and properly patched through implementing different security measures, for instance:
Cybersecurity companies, on the other hand, deal not only with individual computers but also the information it stores and the network it belongs to. In December 2019 Microsoft announced that one of their internal customer databases storing unprotected user analytics was accidentally exposed online. One of the biggest data breaches rather than a cyberattack, this situation caused an exposure of about 250 million data entries, with information such as email addresses, IP addresses, and particular details about support cases.
Not long after the Microsoft incident, FireEye, one of the largest US cybersecurity companies, was hacked in December 2020. The identified foreign government hackers stole company’s tools used to test and access defenses protecting their customers’ stored data – amongst them global corporations and governments on the local, state, and federal levels.
Recent findings show that on average only sheer 5% of companies’ folders are properly protected. Don’t fall into such a trap and make cybersecurity the focal point of your business.
