Spotlight on Alorica—Impact Sourcing Champion Making a Difference

Published on May 14, 2021
A champion is a person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else. It is also someone who is a superstar.   The 64 companies on IAOP’s inaugural Impact Sourcing Champions Index are both. They are the best of the best buy-side, provider and advisory firms that each day advance the lives of people who otherwise would have limited prospects for sustainable employment through their award-winning hiring practices.   Impact sourcing is making a difference by creating jobs in underserved communities where there is high unemployment and in established markets by intentionally hiring workers who have fewer prospects for sustainable jobs and giving them the necessary training to succeed.   Launched in collaboration with the Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI), this first-of-its-kind list is an opportunity to showcase and honor outstanding business services and technology firms around the world in all different segments of the industry who are blazing trails in this area.   Impact Sourcing has proven itself over the last few years as a competitive strategy that enables companies using it to significantly lower attrition rates, increase employee motivation, and gain access to a new, untapped labor market.   IAOP is committed to advancing impact sourcing as a transformative business model and supporting IAOP members and the leading firms who are putting impact sourcing into action.   “As an industry, we have a unique opportunity to influence the hiring practices of organizations across the globe,” says IAOP CEO Debi Hamill. “We can make a huge difference in underserved areas in our own communities. The time is right to showcase the trailblazers in impact sourcing and to recognize and share their best practices. We are proud of the work these organizations are doing.”   The Impact Sourcing Champions Index helps companies make decisions on the top providers to partner with and attracts today’s leading young talent who want to make a social impact to join their organizations, according to Hamill.   “The index helps to illuminate the impact sourcing trend in the BPO industry by letting buyers know about impact sourcing options,” says Jon Browning, CEO of Global Mentorship Initiative (GMI). “This encourages other providers to develop their own impact sourcing strategy.”   To be included in the index, companies submitted an online application, which was then reviewed by IAOP’s Social Impact Committee. The list includes past recipients of IAOP’s Global Impact Sourcing Award (GISA) and companies to watch as well as firms that are Global Impact Sourcing Coalition (GISC) standard adopters who completed the self-assessment and assurance process to fully adopt the Impact Sourcing Standard.   Organizations on the list also will be showcased in the October 2020 “Change the World” issue of Fortune magazine.
